INCOMING ACADEMIC MOBILITY

Free Portuguese Program for academic mobility students

The program has been remodeled and is now being offered to international students before the beginning of the scholastic semester at PUCRS. The program includes classroom hours as well as other integration activities around Campus.

Undergraduate courses to be offered entirely in English at PUCRS

In support of the practices of internationalization, PUCRS is now offering 15 courses entirely in English for both Brazilian and international students. Students will have the chance to get themselves an immersion into the language in a multicultural environment in distinct academic areas.

Tecnopuc opens its doors for international students

International students interested in having some practicum work during their academic mobility program at PUCRS will have the chance to intern at one of the companies, entities and research centers, of different sizes, of PUCRS' Science and Technology Park (Tecnopuc).

OUTGOING ACADEMIC MOBILITY

PUCRS students head to 39 universities abroad

More than 80 PUCRS students are about to embark upon an international experience in the second semester of 2018. The students from different majors will be going to 39 partner universities in 12 countries.

RESEARCH

Food Science and Innovation program joins project with German company

Cooperation project with German company Rosoma, PUC-Peru and DEG/KfW Development Bank involves the undergraduate program of Food Science and Innovation of PUCRS for the use of innovation technologies and strategies in fish processing.

Diagnostic method for schistosomiasis is internationally recognized

The diagnostic method for schistosomiasis developed by PUCRS Biomedical Parasitology Group, in partnership with University of Queensland and University Of Western Australia has earned international recognition. Known as Helmintex, the technique stands out for being highly sensitive as it can detect the magnetic properties of the parasite's eggs.

SUMMER COURSES

School of Medicine to offer four Summer Courses for international students

Registrations for the School of Medicine's new Summer Courses for international students (undergraduate level) are now open. The three-week program will give them a chance to have practicum work in four distinct areas – Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Clinical Neurology –, at São Lucas Hospital at PUCRS.

EVENTS

Students 4 Change

Students 4 Change brought together more than 80 professors from 15 European and Latin American institutions at PUCRS to discuss innovation and social entrepreneurship strategies in higher education.

Conexões Internacionais discusses cooperation in research

An analysis of the multifaceted role of internationalization in the 21st century and its impact on the production of knowledge is the theme of the first edition of Conexões Internacionais, on Sep 27, 2018. Brought to you by the Office for International Cooperation, this year's event will focus on international cooperation in research, its advances and challenges.

RECOGNITION

THE Latin America 2018

The Times Higher Education (THE) Latin America University Rankings 2018 brings PUCRS as the best private university in the South of Brazil. The institution also ranks second among the best public and private universities in Rio Grande do Sul.

PUCRS’ Medicine and Computer Science programs internationally recognized

PUCRS has some of the best Medicine and Computer Science programs on the globe. The recognition was featured in the 8th edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject. International students interested in applying for the Computer Science or the Medicine program at PUCRS should contact their home universities for mobility programs.

Rua da Cultura

The recently opened Rua da Cultura is located in a central area on campus that has been designed for the promotion of culture. It consists of several structured facilities for arts shows and cultural interventions to bring the academic community together and foster the exchange of unique in art, literature, music and cuisine experiences.
